I. Highly qualified professors in variety of backgrounds
The school has four full-time professors, which makes us the strongest faculty among related majors in Taiwan. Our faculty’s backgrounds are quite diverse and well balanced, including such as health policy, health economics, health care financial management, health quality management, medical records, healthcare informatics, strategic management, marketing, human resources, ethics and laws, etc.
II. Top research performance in Health Care Administration
Many professors are involved in writing and editing textbooks in Medical Institution Management, Health Quality Management, Health Insurance Policy, Medical Laws and Ethics, Medical Informatics, etc. Research articles are published in the Science Citation Index (SCI) and Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) journals. In 2004-2008, our faculty published 154 articles in journals included in the collections of SCI and SSCI. Our school excels in training researchers in this field.
III. Strong industrial experiences of faculty that other schools do not have
Quite a number of professors have work experiences in our University Hospital and other university affiliated hospitals as vice superintendents, which provides our students with valuable industrial perspectives.
IV. The first master program in Taiwan that offers overseas practicum opportunities
All domestic master students are expected to travel overseas to observe health care management practices of foreign countries. In 2011, we visited medical centers of our sister universities in Japan.
V. The first All-English master program in Taiwan
The aim of the International Health Care Administration Program is to promote international exchanges. In 2009, we recruited the first batch of international students who received scholarships from various sources, such as International Cooperation and Development Fund, International Higher Education Training Program, etc. This program is now filled with international students from all over the world, including Belize, Gambia, Haiti, Mongolia, Solomon Islands, Thailand, to name a few. We hope that this program would bring interactions between local and international students and enhance our students’ global perspective.
VI. The most advanced and internationalized HCA courses in Taiwan
Our programs offer numerous courses taught fully in English, which is rare in Taiwan. Three of our professors are Fulbright Scholars who offer state of the art lectures.
